Employee Spotlight: Julio Zayas Jr
Meet Julio Zayas Jr, this month’s employee spotlight! Julio started at Pure Solutions 3 years ago as a field technician and now works as our Training Manager, providing mentorship and guidance to our tick and mosquito technicians.
Q: What does your day-to-day look like?
A: I get the technicians ready in the morning before they head out on the road. This includes morning huddles, making sure everything is running smoothly, and ensuring procedures are being done correctly. Then, in the afternoons, I will take care of servicing some manager accounts. At the end of the day, I conduct an end-of-day check-in with the technicians where we go over their day and just talk about how the day was for them.
Q: How do you approach spraying a property?
A: For every customer I have, my approach is to serve them with excellence. To make the customer know I take value in servicing their property and keeping vector-borne diseases away from their loved ones.
Q: Why Pure Solutions?
A: It’s such a great place to work. The culture and environment are great. Pure Solutions always looks for the best to benefit their customers and also their employees.
Q: Favorite part of working at Pure Solutions?
A: Interacting with technicians and just getting to know them as a person. Knowing that I have a chance to encourage and even mentor them is my favorite part of working at Pure Solutions.
Q: What was a memorable moment you’ve had while working here?
A: It’s hard to pick just a moment because there are so many. But the ones I will never forget are our taco events and holiday parties. We are a company with many locations, so seeing everyone get together in one place to celebrate the hard work we do together is the most memorable for me.
Q: What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
A: My why is my family. I’ve been blessed with family which also comes with a responsibility, so leaving a legacy for them is what motivates me to wake up. Not just financially, but the character I leave behind for them to grasp and continue on for generations.
Q: What’s one tip you would give homeowners about pest control?
A: Don’t overlook it! Some neglect it because they are not educated about it. Even a tick that’s so small in size can cause great pain, not just to yourself but to loved ones in your home.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: I enjoy attending, leading, and serving at my church. I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids. I also enjoy barbecuing! Smoking meat is my specialty!
