Mosquito Activity
Mosquitoes prefer a warm, moist environment and are active spring through fall. Beginning routine sprays earlier in the season controls breeding and thus reduces the population.
The Risk of Mosquito Bites
Mosquito-borne diseases are spread to people by the bite of an infected mosquito. Control the mosquito population near your home to reduce the risk. Download our free guide on how you can eliminate mosquito breeding habitats around your home.

Bti Treatments
Applied to stagnant water, Bti are natural bacteria which infect and kill mosquito larvae. These bacteria are highly selective, killing only mosquitoes while not harming other insects, fish, birds, worms or any mammals. If you have vernal pools or standing water on your property, this solution will help reduce the active mosquito population.

Mosquitoes are a common pest that can be both annoying and dangerous, as they are known to transmit diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, and Zika virus. To control mosquitoes, it is important to eliminate their breeding sites, which are usually stagnant water sources like buckets, flower pots, and other containers that hold water. These breeding sites should be emptied regularly or covered to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs. At Pure Solutions we offer a Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis to be place in stagnant water that cannot be drained to prevent mosquito breeding

To best protect your backyard, you can take multiple precautions. First, we recommend spraying mosquito treatments on your property, we mainly focus on treating shrubbery and trees on the properties we treat but also spray the lawn and gardens, avoiding flowering plants to not spray pollinators directly. Additionally, there are herbs and plants that repel mosquitoes, emptying stagnant water removes breeding grounds, and using a fan when enjoying the outdoors keeps mosquitoes at bay.
There are several natural substances that can effectively repel mosquitoes and keep them away. Some common examples include citronella, lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, and lemongrass. These substances work by masking the scent of carbon dioxide and other chemicals that attract mosquitoes, making it harder for the insects to locate their human targets. Additionally, some plants such as marigolds, catnip, and basil also have mosquito-repelling properties, making them a useful addition to your garden or outdoor space.
